General Workaround

We apologize that you are experiencing this issue. It is something our team is aware of and is currently doing their best to resolve it as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we do have a few connection troubleshooting options we can offer that may help until a more permanent solution is found:

Steam Maintenance

Check to make sure there is not currently a Steam maintenance period.

Steam's routine maintenance happens every Tuesday, usually starting in the afternoon around 3:00PM - 6:00PM Pacific Time. This maintenance generally lasts under an hour, though it can vary from minutes to longer periods, disrupting online features but aiming for minimal impact during peak hours. You can check the current status of steam at steamstat.us.

Using a VPN

Using a VPN has proved helpful for many players. If you do not have the ability to purchase a VPN, Cloudflare Warp is a free VPN that has been tested by the community. If Cloudflare Warp fails to work, some players a have reported success using Proton VPN instead.

Contacting your local ISP

Contacting your ISP may also be a useful option as it has been found many providers have a block on certain items.

Please use https://gcping.com/ to see if your IP is being affected by Google Cloud

Adjust your DNS settings

  1. Login to your routers configuration page.
    • To do this you open your web browser, type the router's IP address into the address bar, and then enter the username and password (often admin/password or a sticker on the router itself).
      • To find your router's IP address you can check the sticker on the back of your router or type ipconfig in the Windows Command Prompt.
  2. Locate the DNS settings.
  3. Updated the primary DNS to 1.1.1.1 and alternative to 1.0.0.1
  4. Save the settings.
  5. Go to https://www.dnsleaktest.com/ on any device connected to your network and start the test
  6. The site will explain your results to see if adjusting your DNS settings was successful.

Clear your DNS cache

Some connectivity issues (typically being unable to reach a particular site) can be caused by a corrupted DNS cache on your computer. Clearing, or "flushing" this cache is easy to do.

  1. Type command into your PC's start menu's search bar.
  2. Right-click on Command Prompt when it appears.
  3. Select Run as Administrator.
  4. Enter this command: ipconfig /flushdns
  5. Press the Enter button, then close the window.

Ensure your system time in synced and that you are not experiencing PC Clock Drift

Losing Connection on Zone Change

In some cases, you may experience a disconnection when loading a new zone. Before trying the steps below, make sure you are running the latest version of Last Epoch by verifying your game files in Steam:

  1. Right-click Last Epoch.
  2. Click on Properties
  3. Click on Installed Files
  4. Click on Verify Integrity of game files

If you don't have the latest version, this will force a download of it. If you are on the latest version and still experiencing disconnections on zone change, try the following steps in order:

  1. Change your server on the login screen. Connecting to a different region can resolve routing issues.
  2. Use a VPN. Cloudflare Warp is a free option that has worked for many players. If it does not help, try Proton VPN as an alternative.
  3. Sync your system time. PC Clock Drift can cause connection drops. Open Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time and turn on Set time automatically.
  4. Adjust your DNS settings to use Cloudflare DNS (primary: 1.1.1.1, secondary: 1.0.0.1) as described in the General Workaround section above.
  5. Port forward the ports used by Last Epoch on your router. Consult your router's documentation for instructions on how to open ports.
  6. Check your firewall. Ensure Last Epoch is allowed through Windows Firewall and any third-party security software. Go to Windows Security > Firewall & network protection > Allow an app through firewall and verify Last Epoch is listed and checked.
  7. Contact your ISP. Some providers block or throttle traffic to game servers. Use gcping.com to check if your IP is affected by Google Cloud routing.
  8. Use SG TCP Optimizer. Set it to Optimal settings. See the General Workaround section above for setup guidance.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, report it using the In-Game Bug Reporting tool. Include your ISP and server choice in the report. You can also reach out to our Support Team with your log file and system information attached.
